BROHO MAGAZINE COVER

Brief

Concept:

Design the premiere issue cover of BROHO, a bold new lifestyle magazine aimed at modern, style-conscious, professional men (25–35). Content includes fashion, tech, fitness, culture, and interviews. The look should be aspirational yet grounded, stylish but not flashy — think Monocle meets GQ with a fresh attitude.

Design Suggestions:

  • Use bold, clean typography and striking photography (stock or AI-generated if needed).

  • Grid-based layout with a premium editorial feel.

  • Cover lines should reflect content themes: e.g., “City Style Reset,” “Inside the Mind

    of a Modern Leader,” “Workouts that Work.”

Design Overview:

Whilst doing research into the modern style of magazines, I noticed that they have become a lot more minimalist; with fewer words so they are more impactful in the imagery and cover lines. This is the route I believed would be best for BROHO.

To produce a standout cover I used one image to pull focus onto the main model. The image incorporates cream, beige & brown tones to represent the autumn magazine edition. I used clean type face to give it a clear and easy to read feel and pulled the colours from the image as base colours for the type.

To keep in line with the minimalist style I kept to 3 cover lines:

The first being fashion, which also links to the bold image used and how men can discover new trends for the new season. Keeping it simple for men looking for fashion advice.

The next is an interview that talks all things men’s mental health. With November being men’s mental health awareness month, it seemed like a great way to get people talking about it before it gets started. I used a quote from the interview to draw people in so the want to keep reading.

Thirdly, tips on travel sustainability. A big cultural movement currently is sustainability, how it can affect the everyday human and what they can do to help going forward. In a society that enjoys travelling as much as the age group this magazine is aimed at and with the ease of being able to travel at the touch of a button, sustainability is a big talking point.
